Synthesis of the case study

Close to Etretat, the small resort of Veules-les-Roses suffered from bomb damage during the Second World War and then from the post war reconstruction, which channeled the river and covered it with a parking lot. The project, which focuses on the entire seafront has consisted, initially, of redeveloping the promenade and equipment related to the tourist season (games and paddling). The river, whose bed had been erased by the post war works, is now showcasing it as part of the reconstruction of the site, giving way to a freshwater garden along the river. It is composed of a large wooden deck, rounded and comfortable benches, a viewpoint on a pier extending into the sea, playgrounds and a paddling pool for children.
