Synthesis of the case study

The Rhone River banks revival originated from the idea of bringing reconciliation between the city and its river. The intervention links the two largest parks in the city and establishes a continuous walkway across the city. It occupies approximately ten hectares over five kilometres running along the left bank of the Rhone river. The lower level is almost exclusively for pedestrians, with riverside woods, green areas and seating, that will not interrupt tracks for strolling, skating or cycling. The connection between levels is enhanced by ten "lookout boxes“ that contain lifts, stairs, health services, drinking water fountains, info points, bicycle and skate rental establishments, food and drink stalls and nurseries.
