Synthesis of the case study

The Park Square Cage Football Project took over the first floor of the car park and offered participants the chance to participate in 5v5 football for free every Wednesday and Thursday for a year. This was delivered in a turn up and play format so young people could easily drop in and drop out of the session as and when they saw fit. A key action of the project was the appointment of coaches who were from the local area and could act as peer mentors and role models to the young people in attendance. This model helped them develop the next generation of coaches through the programme which was supported by funding from NGBs.
